Five inducted into ICT Hall of Fame
Five individuals have been selected by an independent panel of judges to be the first inducted into the Kenya ICT Hall of Fame that is to be launched by the Deputy Prime MInister Musalia Mudavadi on Wednesday 25th November 2009. The five are Hon. Eng. james Rege, Dr. Crowther Pepela, Geroge Wanyama Okado, Ms Njeri Rionge and Dr. Sylavanus Juma Okech (posthumous)

The Computer Society of Kenya has been serving the individual IT Professionals, Corporate IT members, Corporate IT users, and IT Accredited Training Members since 1986, providing an industry identity and forum, leading in public policy advocacy, offering technology and management training services, and running a recognition and awards program.
Affiliations: The Society is associated through membership with International organizations including the World Information Technology Services Alliance (http://www.witsa.org), the International Federation for Information Processing (www.ifip.org). Locally the Society is a member of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (http://www.kepsa.or.ke) and the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (http://www.apseac.org/).

Successful Hosting of India ICT Delegation
The Computer Society of Kenya, in conjunction with the Indian High
Commission in Nairobi, held a successful Buyer-Meets-Seller B2B meeting
at the Kenyatta Conference Centre on 30th November 2009. The delegation
is composed of 11 ICT and related companies from different parts of
India was on a 3-day mission under the aegis of the Electronics and
Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC). The ESC is India’s
premier export promotion organization sponsored by the Indian
Government. The CSK has a memorandum of understanding with the ESC
whereby the two organizations support trade delegations and associated
arrangements between the 2 countries. Hundreds of visitors attended the exhibition and B2B meetings. The visitors from India were later treated
to a sumptuous North India dinner at the Haandi Restaurant in Westlands.
They were scheduled to be in the country for a further 2 days doing B2B
meetings before leaving for Tanzania.The visit is a prelude to a
reciprocal visit of Kenyan ICT companies to the IndiaSoft Meeting organized by ESC and to be held in Jaipur, India. 10-13 March, 2010.
